Have I mentioned how much I love tea time? This is by far the best scone recipe I have ever used. They come out so fluffy and perfect, whereas most scones tend to be dense. They flake apart like heavenly biscuits and have a mildly sweet taste. It takes me about 20 minutes to make them from start to finish so there is no excuse not to get your hands a little dirty! They whip up quickly while the oven is preheating and are good to go in 15 minutes. Enjoy!

  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 5 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 cup Butter
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1 cup Milk

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  3. With a pastry cutter, or fork, cut the cold butter into the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder mixture.
  4. Mix the egg with the milk.
  5. Pour in the milk and egg mixture into the flour.
  6. Stir well, but do not over stir.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll until about 1 inch thick. Then cut into desired shapes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven for 15 minutes, until golden brown.
